In OSINT, collecting digital indicators like IPs, email addresses, or social media posts is often the easy part. Knowing what they actually tell you (or don't) is where it gets tricky. And where investigations go wrong.
During our July members-only workshop, I showed how to apply our new guide, “The Indicator Framework: How to tell what your digital evidence is actually worth.” I outlined the framework and applied it to a real investigative case to show how to weigh the strengths and weaknesses of digital indicators. I also demonstrated how to use the Indicator Matrix to plot and assess your evidence.
Below is a video of the session as well as links to a transcript, my slides, and a document with AI-generated notes.
Our next workshop will be in late August.
