AI nudifiers pivot to video and reach users via Apple, Google, Meta, Telegram, and X

Six years into the deepfake nudes epidemic, we are nowhere near beating back the tools that make this abuse possible. In fact, AI nudifiers are expanding their services and remain unrepentant in their use of mainstream platforms to reach customers.

In a worrying evolution, more and more nudifiers can now take a single photo of a real person and transform it into a photo of that person in a sex pose or in a short explicit video.

As nudifiers evolve their offerings, they continue to leverage mainstream platforms to reach customers and earn money from their awful trade. The websites charge monthly subscriptions or sell coins that can be exchanged for nudified images.

Indicator found that in the two weeks since the Take It Down Act was passed in the United States, ten different nudifiers had a foothold on mainstream tech platforms such as Apple, Google, Meta, Telegram, and X.
